It is no secret that the current economic recession has made many people pause about major purchasing decisions like buying a home.  According to a new study by two University of Southern California researchers, right now might actually be the best time to buy a home.  The researchers’ prediction is that the housing bubble is going to increase drastically in the near future due to the baby boomer generation’s dominance in numbers.  Dowell Myers, a professor of urban planning and demography in USC’s School of Policy, Planning and Development, and Sungho Ryu, a doctoral candidate at the school and an associate planner with the Southern California Association of Governments, predict that as baby boomers reach the years when people become sellers rather than buyers, they could dominate the housing market shortly after 2010, causing housing prices to fall.
